Boots haul:

Hello! I nipped into Boots earlier and picked up some things I needed/wanted.

  • I ran out of my Garnier Micellar water last week, it lasted me three months which is great! I got the last one off the shelf, lucky me!
  •  I misplaced my nail polish remover so just picked up this cheap one from there for £1.
  • For some time I've been eyeing up peaches and clean by Soap and Glory (deep purifying cleanser), and with  few quid off, I was like yep I'm having that!
  • The last remaining Rimmel powder I've been using smashed up into tiny pieces (really hate that) they didn't really have any I wanted. I tend to go for the Maybelline, collection or Rimmel powders as they all do a good job. I have used Boots natural collection before, and because I'm trying to budget I picked their version up for around £1.99, it did a good job when I used it in the past.
  • And finally I picked up another gelly hi-shine nail paint by Barry M in Green Berry. I love these, and this is a very summer colour. I'm actually painting my nails with it right now.

That's all for today, I am now officially broke until payday =],

Barry M natural glow palette review:

Hey guys! How are you all doing? a while back I picked up three of the Barry M palette's. Today I'm going to do a review on the natural glow version.

I've put together some swatches for you. They aren't the best quality, but I'm sure you will get a good idea of the colours.

These are the shimmery colours, and they are quite creamy. I was able to keep them natural for day time or work, or build them up a bit more to create a smokey eyed look for night time or special events. They are quite pigmented  especially when you build them up, and I got a good colour pay off. They are very wearable, and you can create different looks. They mix and match well.

And here are the two matte eye shadows and the blush. These are quite powdery, but the white makes a good base to build colour on. The light brown colour isn't really my cup of tea, so I tend to use this one less than the others.

The blush is very natural, I had to build this up on my hand so you could see it. Its not that shimmery when applied to your cheeks, its very subtle and pretty. Perfect if you want a natural looking blush. Not usually my type of blush (tend to go for one a little darker and more obvious), but I wore it for work a couple of times to create a natural glow. You definitely don't have to worry about over doing this blush, you can never put on too much.

I enjoy using this palette and will continue to use it. The colours are perfect for the summer months. The packaging is nice yet simple. I will give this palette a 9/10. It's purse friendly, and fun to use.

See you all soon with more reviews. Let me know if you have used these palettes and how they worked for you,

Barry M review:

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been active this week, I've been babysitting a lot. Lets get straight into it!

  • In my Barry M haul I featured these little bargains. The matte nail paint is in the colour crush, I just love the colour, its like a cranberry tone. It does leave your nails looking matte, but with a slight sheen, and I've enjoyed using this on my nails. Makes a nice change to super shiny nails. 8/10.
  • The Gelly shine nail paint in plum looks beautiful on the nails, very shiny so it does the trick. This lasts longer on my nails than the matte colour, but both were pretty long wearing (my nails tend to chip very easily).9/10. I find that these nail colours tend to last longer on me than any I've tried, so these are definitely my go to nail product.
  • Last up we have the Andrea Fulerton triple undercoat which I just randomly picked up for the sake of trying new undercoats. It did seem to make my nail colour last a bit longer than it otherwise would. So maybe this helped with my chipping dilemmas. 6/10.

As I said in my haul, I love these colours for this time of year! In fact I would try to get away with it all year round.

This was just a short review to get me back on track, let me know your thoughts on these products. Its good to be back,

Barry M haul:

Yay it came, and it brightened up my day a little bit seeing my packages waiting for me!

  • So first up I got the Andrea Fulerton triple action undercoat. I haven't tried this before, was a spur of the moment thing when choosing an undercoat
  • Next up we have another gelly shine nail paint in plum (my third one)
  • I spotted the matte nail paint and was instantly attracted to crush (I think that's the colour) its such a pretty dark winter colour, I love these types for the colder months
  • I have three of the normal lip paints, and wanted to try an ultra moisturising version. I love dark vampy lips for winter also, and spotted one in a cranberry colour. Will go well with the matte nail paint. Love the pink packaging too
  • Got the two nail paints and lip Paint in a 3 for 2 offer

  • I saw that these palettes not long ago, and thought I need to try these. Superdrug were doing a 3 for 2 on the website, so I picked up all three. This meant I got one completely free, and with free delivery over £10 I couldn't be more happy. Cant wait to give these a go, the colours look lovely as well.  Love the fact that they contain a blusher, so I have three lovely blushers to try out

Excited to try everything, going to have a ball. I love Barry M in general, takes me back to a fashion show I went to in my teens!

I shall be back soon with other reviews that I have lined up, including the Garnier Micellar water, and Miss Sporty foundation. I'm hoping to try out some other brands and branch out a bit, there are many items I would love to purchase, so they will be on my wishlist.

Beauty bag part 2-Lips:

I'm back again with part 2, and this time its all about the lips. Not every lipstick/lip product I use is included, but most of my go to items.

So here we go!

First up we have a Rimmel lipstick from the moisture renew range: The colour is 320 funtime fuchsia. Its quite a dark, vibrant lip colour- I tend to go for a more out there dramatic lip. The colour is definitely not understated or natural looking by any means- & has a shimmer to it. ( There will be swatches at the bottom of this page). It has quite a strong taste and scent to it. I'd say this was more night time/evening, but I do wear it during the day if I feel like being vibrant. In terms of moisture, it does have enough to keep your lips from drying out. This probably lasts the longest on the lips out of all the lipsticks in this post.  7/10.

Barry M lip paint in 129: This is a lilac colour and has a very creamy substance. I'm not sure if this colour suites me or not, so I tend to wear it less than any of the other colours in this collection. With having pale skin I'm not convinced it does me any justice, or just washes me out. Although I have seen it on pale skins before, and it has looked quite nice, so maybe its just me. For some reason this is more creamy textured than any of the other lip paints I have tried, and often melts really easily. In fact this broke off whilst typing this review up. Its really moisturising, has a nice sheen, but with the texture being so creamy its not the best in terms of longevity. 5/10.

Barry M lip paint in 155: I like this better than the lilac version. Its a nice soft pink, and I wear this on my natural days to add a pop of colour without being too over the top. Yet again it has a creamy substance, but not as much as the Lilac one. I haven't had any trouble with this melting and breaking off. Even though its moisturising, if you have dry or cracked lips it really shows when you apply it. I tend to do a lip scrub, and moisturise my lips before putting it on if my lips aren't the best. I also have a lip paint in red, which is my favourite, but I cant seem to find it anywhere. The staying power isn't that bad, but you do need to reapply. I'd rate this a 7/10.

Miss sporty perfect colour lipstick in 038 I love: I really do love this lipstick. Its a unique pink colour,
cant really put my finger on it. When applied it just melts on to the lips making them feel smooth and moisturised. It has a watermelon scent/taste to it, which I personally don't mind. This is quite bold but still subtle enough for me to wear during the day. I guess its a love it or hate it colour. 8/10.

If you have read my review on the Ted Baker gift set, you will know that these two beauties came with it. I have done a review on these already, but I thought I would include them so you can get a better look at the colours. The darker colour is definitely bold and not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it as a winter colour. I like clashing my pale skin with dark or vibrant colours. They don't last very long on the lips and need to be reapplied frequently, but I don't mind.

I thought I would throw this one in for good measure. I received this one in my last Ted Baker set, and have used it a lot since. As you can see its worn down and the writing has rubbed off.

Swatches
Top left: the first two are the Ted Baker lip crayons I recently got in a gift set. The next two are the Barry M lip paints.
Bottom left: The first one is Rimmel and next is miss sporty. Last but not least is the Ted Baker one that I got for Christmas 2012.

There are many more lipsticks that I would love to try, but these are just a handful I use regularly. I'm hoping my skincare order will have been delivered within the next few days. Once it gets here I will be sure to post a haul. Thank you for your time.

Makeup haul/review:

Hey guys, welcome back to another haul/review. Lets get started shall we!
I’ve been wanting to try maybelline baby lips for a while after hearing many positive reviews on them. I purchased the pink punch one, it smells yummy, and it is quite moisturizing on the lips, I’d love to purchase other flavours/colours (eyeing up the cherry version especially). Good enough to eat and I love the tint of colour it gives you. 8/10 *thumbs up*

The maybelline fit me foundation: I purchased this in 120 classic ivory, it was the lightest one there and I am quite fair. I tend to struggle finding a light enough colour that isn’t orange. I tried this yesterday and it is slightly orange and too dark unfortunately, but still wearable if blended and set with powder. With my skin type I quite matte shine controlled foundation, that is a decent coverage. This is in my opinion a lighter coverage and it left me looking shiny after a few hours, and I had to reapply powder + wore off by the end of the day around my T-zone.  Its not my fave foundation, but its use-able if worked with. I’d rate this a 4.5/10, as I have used worse and better foundations.

stay matte by Rimmel, which I have in ivory: This was on offer when I picked it up, and what a steal! I didn't expect much as I have tried so many foundations with no joy, and I have tried one of their foundations before and really did not like it. This is slightly too dark, but its not orange like the maybelline fit me. It has a decent coverage and apply s really smooth, but a little goes along way as it is quite thick textured. Once set with powder this seemed to last quite well throughout the day, and I have used it a lot since. I would rate this a 8/10. The price is decent and it would suit teenagers, or anyone with oily skin. Awesome foundation!

For ages I have been eyeing up Barry M nail polishes/paints and took notice of the Gelly hi-shine nail paints ( I think its a G as it looks like it lol). I picked up dragon fruit as I've been looking for a pink just like it (since I lost a very similar colour a while ago). No matter what I do my nail polishes tend to chip straight away on the tip of my nails. Once applied this lasted a little longer than any I've tried before, which was a big bonus. Overall I am impressed and would rate a 8/10. And since I purchased this I bought a natural colour to wear for work.
