Superdrug haul:

Yup I'm back with the Superdurg haul I mentioned in my last post. Lets dive straight in, no time like the present.

  • So I picked up a mixture of things including basic everyday things. I got the Bic twin lady shavers, they are cheap and cheerful and work really well. They are cute colours also.
  •  Plump it up dry shampoo by VO5, I need dry shampoo its a must! I also have flat fine hair so anything that gives boost is a must. I usually get the dry backcombing spray but it wasn't on offer, this was.
  • I love the St.Ives face scrubs, so wanted to try this new olive oil face scrub, I need face scrubs.
  • I came across B,Creative face kits, on offer for £9.99 instead of £14.99. I got it for light skin tones. It includes a concealer, highlighter, face powder, foundation and a application sponge. It's fab and cant wait to give it a try, I will pop some swatches down below.
  • I love Sleek, and have been eyeing up the new precious metals highlighting palette. At the time I could not justify £9.99, but now I have it. It has three velvet cream formulas and one powder. The finishes are platinum, royal gold, renaissance gold and antique bronze. It includes a brush. So excited I love highlighters. Again I will post a swatch picture somewhere below.
  • And last but not least dental floss lol, because its essential.

Haul:

Hey guys! I have been collecting some bits these last few days for an upcoming event.

I did some online shopping at Superdrug. First up we have a hair dye, I've gone for the same colour as last time, but wanted to try a different brand. Hopefully this will last a little longer. The colour is mango copper.

Next I decided to try out some fake eyelashes to add a pow to my eyes, even though I have long lashes I wanted to thicken them up without 10 layers of mascara.

I picked up my trusty foundation, Revlon colour stay, but this time I got the normal/dry rather than the oily/combo as I found it slightly drying.

Lastly I wanted a natural coloured lipstick as I'm focusing on my eyes for this special event, I don't want my lips to be overpowering. This one is by Sleek, and is called barely there. It's a sheen finish so my lips wont dry out throughout the day.

These were early birthday gifts from my Mum, as my birthday follows the event and I needed some bits and bobs to fancy myself up a bit.

So I have an apricot scrub, not the one I usually use, but will give this a go. And my usual trusty backcombing spray which doubles up as a dry shampoo.

I also wanted a body shimmer to add a bit of glamour to my skin, and I came across this one by soap and glory, It's very subtle and makes your skin smell nice with the added scent.

I've been meaning to try the seventeen falsifeye mascara so decided to give it a whirl.

Because the event goes on all day I wanted to try another primer that would make my makeup last longer without slipping and sliding around on my face, so this stay time long wear one from seventeen caught my eye. It was the last one on the shelf so it must be good (hopefully).

The theme for the day is purple so I want to incorporate purple nails, this gel effect one from seventeen should do the trick, the colour is 'pretty bang bang'.

I needed a new eyeliner, and went with the big eye liner by Maybelline with the black tip and the white tip to pop on the waterline, to make the eyes appear bigger.

And last but not least Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears, as you know I love her scents. This was on offer in Boots for £10.99 instead of the £22 for the 30ml. Love it.

That's all for now, see you all soon I hope.

Cosmopolitan makeup sponge review:

Hey guys, back with another quick review!

I picked this up on offer from Superdrug a while back and I've been testing it out ever since. I absolutely love it, and would not be without it now. I haven't put a new picture of it up due to it being covered in foundation lol but you can see it well enough through the packet.

  • Its super easy to use
  • Very quick to use, my base is sorted in no time and its less messy
  • When water is added it becomes unbelievably soft and squidgy + larger
  • I use this mainly with the 3 in 1 max factor foundation and it looks perfect, its the best foundation to use it with that I have tried. It definitely provides an airbrush finish when used with that particular foundation. I think its due to the texture of the foundation as its light and has a more liquid consistency.
  • I just pop some foundation on my hand, dab the large bottom end onto it, and dab it allover my face. The pointy end is good for applying foundation around the nose, and concealer around the eye area
  • I will be buying this again definitely and would recommend. 9/10.
That's all for this review, let me know if you have used this sponge and your thoughts on it,

NYX haul:

Hello. I was looking on the NYX website and came across a sale/clearance, so I didn't see the harm in indulging. I didn't order too much, just three items. I controlled myself, because lets face it its easy to go overboard when you see the word 'sale' in red!

swatches of the blush and lipstick!

I got the Haute Jersey leopard couture set, and I absolutely love it! I was instantly attracted to it because I love leopard print, and the inside doesn't let it down, looks so much better in person. It includes 24 eyeshadow's-a variety of pretty colours, four little applicators, two mirrors (which I covered up because of the reflection), two lipglosses, four bronzers, and two blushers. I've used it a few times, so its still pretty much unused, but I'm excited to carry on using it and experimenting with the colours. It was £15 but I got it for £10, its being discontinued, and I'm glad I nabbed it before then. Would recommend. Link here: Haute Jersey Leopard couture set

I also picked up a stick blush in Tulip, which looks scary at first (as I'm quite pale) but it applied lovely once spread out and blended. I chose this colour in case the paler colours didn't have much colour payoff, but this shade is perfect. I've been enjoying this since it arrived on monday, thought I'd start using blush like this again, instead of powder . This wasn't on sale, so this is available any time. Link here: Stick blush

Last but not least the diamond sparkle lipstick. This is also in the clearance to be discontinued. I picked it up in 'sparkling nude' as I fancied a more natural coloured lipstick, as I tend to steer towards a lot of bright colours. This is different to how I expected it to look, its way more frosty looking, I expected it to have some shimmer, but not a frosty finish. Its not an everyday look really, well not for me anyway, so I will wear it on nights out etc if I'm wearing dark smokey eyes and want the focus to be on them. Not sure if the finish suits me, but I'll give it a whirl. Ignore the chipped nails btw. Link here: Diamond sparkle lipstick

There are many many items I would love to purchase from there, I have a few things in mind. Let me know if you have tried these products and what you think of them.

Next up I have another haul, see you then,

Makeup storage:

Heylo! Months ago I ordered a wooden storage container for my makeup. I kept getting letters and emails saying it was going to be 2 weeks late, then another 2 weeks were added on top etc. So I finally got it a few days ago. I put a few makeup/haircare/skincare inside the little compartments so you can see it in its full glory. I haven't decided what else to put in it yet, but I will do soon. Right now its in my bathroom, but I may move it to my bedroom once its decorated (hopefully soon).

Its white and made from very light wood. I got it for around £19.95 but the original price was around £29.95. The website I ordered from is called house of bath. I wasn't impressed with how long it took, and I'm glad I got it on offer as the usual price seems a bit pricey for the quality. I think its back to the higher price now. It is nice though, and very handy to have for extra storage, definitely nice to put on show.

That's all for today, I have some reviews coming up shortly,

Boots haul:

Hello! I nipped into Boots earlier and picked up some things I needed/wanted.

  • I ran out of my Garnier Micellar water last week, it lasted me three months which is great! I got the last one off the shelf, lucky me!
  •  I misplaced my nail polish remover so just picked up this cheap one from there for £1.
  • For some time I've been eyeing up peaches and clean by Soap and Glory (deep purifying cleanser), and with  few quid off, I was like yep I'm having that!
  • The last remaining Rimmel powder I've been using smashed up into tiny pieces (really hate that) they didn't really have any I wanted. I tend to go for the Maybelline, collection or Rimmel powders as they all do a good job. I have used Boots natural collection before, and because I'm trying to budget I picked their version up for around £1.99, it did a good job when I used it in the past.
  • And finally I picked up another gelly hi-shine nail paint by Barry M in Green Berry. I love these, and this is a very summer colour. I'm actually painting my nails with it right now.

That's all for today, I am now officially broke until payday =],

Avon supershock mascara review:

Hey you! I'm back with another review.

Ignore my unplucked eyebrows (pesky things), just quickly snapped a pic for you guys so you can see the results! This is after a few coats, most of the time I'll spend longer applying it.

I got this in that party gift set I purchased a little while ago, but I have used it a lot in the past. Here are my personal thoughts on the product:

  • Works better after its been open a month or so in my opinion, seems to thicken slightly making it grip the lashes better and coat them even more.
  • Its definitely a buildable mascara as you can create a natural look with this or build it up for more drama, which is something I like to do, I love dramatic lashes. I get the most from it when I build it up.
  • It separates lashes well, doesn't get too clumpy at all, but if it does its easy to correct.
  • Its good for both length and volume if you build it up. Although I do have long lashes naturally my tips are blonde so lashings of this is a must!
  • The brush is rather big and bulky, but I don't have any problems when using it.
  • I love it, this gets an 8/10 from me.

see you all soon with more reviews,

Foundation purchase:

As  mentioned I have so many foundations I would love to try, and the next two on my list are these fab little purchases:

The first is the Maxfactor face finity all day flawless 3 in 1 foundation. This caught my eye a while ago, especially with it being 3 in 1- primer, concealer and foundation. Is this too good to be true? we shall find out! I got it in Light Ivory so hopefully it will be shade appropriate (unlike the Avon Ivory eek). It has SPF 20 in the formula too.

And the Rimmel Wake me up foundation. This has been around for so long, but I always decided against it because I have oily skin on the most part. I just really wanted to try it and couldn't resist the urge any longer! It comes in the shade Light Porcelain, how fab is that? should be a great shade for pale complexions. This also has an SPF of 15.

Once I have tried and tested these out you will be first to know my thoughts! Have you tried one or both of these foundations? were they a thumbs up or a thumbs down? opinions always welcome! See you all soon,

Elf eye primer review:

Hello I'm back again already! Lets get straight into it!

This is the mineral eyeshadow primer from ELF. I tried the cheaper version and really didn't like it as it did nothing for me at all. This is definitely better.

  • Its light in texture
  • feels like you have nothing on your eyelid when you apply it
  • I'm not sure it does all that much to make eyeshadow last longer or to stop it from creasing
  • I tend to wear this on its own as a light concealer for my eyelid to conceal any redness or veins, it covers them enough when not wearing any eyeshadow. Only thing I'd say is it does crease a little when doing this, but if I rub my finger over it, its fixed easily!
  • its cheap and cheerful
I would give this a 6/10, I have used it almost everyday since I got it! Not bad at all really. I will be back with more hauls soon,

AVON foundation review:

Hello there! Time for a long awaited review, I shall start with the AVON foundations I got a few months ago.

Extra lasting foundation- I was very disappointed in this, because of the shade. I mixed it with a lighter coloured foundation as it looked too dark for ivory. I happened to notice my faced looked a tinged orange colour, which is so not the look I was going for. If this was lighter in shade I would totally wear it, was excited as it sounded promising. You cant tell from the picture, but in person it definitely looks darker than the ideal flawless. 4/10 due to the colour, but the finish would be good otherwise.

Ideal flawless- quite impressed with this one, its pale enough which is great! great start indeed. I wouldn't say it looks 'invisible' but it does look on the more natural side. As I stated in the haul, the pump was broken, then the pump got stuck in the lid not long after, and its a mess, just a mess lol. But its not a bad foundation. I tend to go easy when applying, because if you apply too much at once it goes cakey, and I have to take my time when spreading it out as to even out the application. I'd say depending on your preference its a light-medium coverage, as too much is too much with this foundation. I applied too much during the first try and it didn't sit well on my skin- little by little. 8/10.

I have ordered two more foundations to try, I am excited to receive them. Next up I have an Elf review. See you then,

Barry M natural glow palette review:

Hey guys! How are you all doing? a while back I picked up three of the Barry M palette's. Today I'm going to do a review on the natural glow version.

I've put together some swatches for you. They aren't the best quality, but I'm sure you will get a good idea of the colours.

These are the shimmery colours, and they are quite creamy. I was able to keep them natural for day time or work, or build them up a bit more to create a smokey eyed look for night time or special events. They are quite pigmented  especially when you build them up, and I got a good colour pay off. They are very wearable, and you can create different looks. They mix and match well.

And here are the two matte eye shadows and the blush. These are quite powdery, but the white makes a good base to build colour on. The light brown colour isn't really my cup of tea, so I tend to use this one less than the others.

The blush is very natural, I had to build this up on my hand so you could see it. Its not that shimmery when applied to your cheeks, its very subtle and pretty. Perfect if you want a natural looking blush. Not usually my type of blush (tend to go for one a little darker and more obvious), but I wore it for work a couple of times to create a natural glow. You definitely don't have to worry about over doing this blush, you can never put on too much.

I enjoy using this palette and will continue to use it. The colours are perfect for the summer months. The packaging is nice yet simple. I will give this palette a 9/10. It's purse friendly, and fun to use.

See you all soon with more reviews. Let me know if you have used these palettes and how they worked for you,
