Just a quickie:

Hello lovelies. Just wanted to say thank you for your support so far. I've loved receiving comments, answering questions, and being nominated for the Liebster award etc. I'm thankful for everything. If there's anything specific that you would want to see on my blog I'm open to ideas, just let me know in the comments.

I do have some reviews planned, including the Barry M nail polishes that I purchased, the Barry M eyeshadow/blush palettes, elf white eye pencil, witch hazel/tea tree blemish stick by boots, Miss Sporty mascara and many more coming up over the next few weeks and month.

I will be posting shortly over the next few days, see you all then,

Beauty blogger tag:

I was looking through blogs and spotted this old tag (well it was dated 2012) but I thought I'd do it anyway. Its a good way to get to know people a little bit better!

Questions:

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

I've had curly hair all my life, now its more wavy. It's never been naturally straight! If I don't straighten it, it doesn't look right, looks a bit messy.

2. What is your natural hair colour?

This is a tricky question as I've been dying my hair since high school, possibly around the age of 13 when I first got highlights. And since its been blonde, brown, purple, red, and different combinations of these. So I haven't had my natural color in about 12 years or so.

As a small child I was blonde, then it changed to dirty blonde, then light brown with a hint of dirty blonde. I'm just going to say my hairs a light brown colour, and I'm currently in the process of growing my hair colour out completely, as I want my own colour back. I may look a bit scruffy for quite some time yet, as my hair doesn't grow fast lol.

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?:

I have done both. When I've been blonde I've always gone to the hairdressers to get it done, as I had an incident at 14 when I used a box dye, BIG mistake lol. But if I'm going through a brunette stage I've done it myself at home. You cant mess up with brown, but blonde is a no no.

4. How often do you wash your hair?:

I've spoken about my hair being oily in the past. My hair usually starts to look greasy the day after washing it, so I use dry shampoo in between as I don't like washing my hair everyday. Every other day on average, but sometimes I can get to the 3rd day before having to.

5. Do you wear the same hairstyle everyday or do you change it up?:

I've always gone through phases. In High school I would wear my hair up everyday, and once I got introduced to hair straighteners I wore it down. And since then I've worn my hair down more than up, and only wear it up these days for work. I've had so many different cuts, I've had a pixie type cut, a bob, a bob that was longer on one side than the other, long hair, mid length hair etc. So in terms of actual styles I've had a lot. Right now I'm attempting to grow it, have been for a while, so hopefully I can become more creative in that department.

6. Do you do your own nails or go to a salon?:

I've never had my nails done at a salon, although I'd love to. I've always done them myself, and I'm definitely no expert at nails lol.

7. How often do you change your nail varnish?:

When I have to, meaning when its really chipped and NEEDS coming off

8. Do you always wear nail varnish on your toes?:

When I have the chance to have a pamper session I do, but if I don't have a lot of time I don't get around to it.

9. How long does it take you to put on your makeup?:

It depends on where I'm going, how much time I have, and what look I'm going for. It can be anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes.

10. What do you do first, your face or your eyes?

I do my face first and get the base ready.

11. Do you collect makeup or just buy it when you need to?

I buy it when I need to. Lately I've been buying quite a bit of makeup, as I was running out of everything. I've been trying to get a good collection together that will last me a while, so I will be cutting down on the spending shortly.

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

I don't wear false eyelashes as I think I have reasonable eyelashes of my own. But I would like to glam up with them at some point for a night out or a special occasion.

13. Do you wear a full face of makeup everyday?

If I'm not going anywhere I wont wear any at all, but if I'm going out I always have something on my face even if its not full makeup.

14. Do you wear makeup just around the house?

If I'm not leaving the house then no, I don't see the point in putting your face on and having nowhere to go. lol. I like to let my skin breathe when I can.

15. How many high end products do you have?

I don't think I currently have any

16. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?

As often as I can, but not as often as I should haha

17. Will you leave the house without makeup on?

Ermm not really no, I hate going out without anything on at all. I don't always wear a full face of makeup, but I feel I need the basics, especially foundation or some form of BB cream. I feel naked without it. I mentioned in my babyskin primer review that I have red areas and my skin is a bit blotchy + I dealt with acne since I was 11 years old, and still get breakouts to this day. I feel more confident with something covering all that lol

18. Do you plan what you will wear the next day, or when you are getting dressed?

Depends what I have planned. If I have something special the next day or a night out I will probably have an exact idea in my head. And if I'm just nipping out to do some errands or something more casual I will just throw on whatever I feel like wearing, but I always have a pretty good idea what I want to put on.

19. How often do you change your handbag?

Not as often as I'd like, but most of the time I'm rushing around and will use the same handbag for weeks on end, if I remember and have time I'll swap over. I love handbags, definitely always been a handbag girl.

20. What time do you get up and go to sleep?

Oh gosh. I am not a great sleeper, its hard for me to get to sleep and get a good nights rest. So you can guarantee I'll be up late at night and early in the morning. If I'm not doing anything I'll attempt to lie in, I am not a morning person. I'd love to get into bed and drift off at a reasonable time, but nope haha.

21. How often and when do you work out?

Used to work out pretty much everyday. Absolutely loved it, I went swimming, aerobics, long walks, workouts at home etc. Now I cant do so much because of my illness. It sucks big time. I crave working out and get jealous when I see people doing it lol (never thought I would say that).

22. Left or right handed?

I am right handed =]

23. How tall are you?

Around 5'6

24. Do you speak a foreign language?

Not really, I still remember some German from school, but I am far from fluent!

25. How many pets do you have?

Three. I have my two dogs, and a goldfish =] I'd have more if I could

26. How often are you on blogger?

I check it every day even if I don't post anything

27. Do you read the comments posted?

Always, I enjoy it =]

28. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

I mainly just keep a mental note if I see something I like

29. How did you come up with your blog name?

I took the Lazerlips part from a childhood film I still absolutely adore. + I think of red lips, and I love a good red lip!

30. What sort of camera do you use to take your photographs?

Just a canon powershot A320015

31. How often do you clean your room?

Not often, I hate tidying lol. I love organising my makeup etc but not general cleaning up

32. What is your favourite colour?

I always find it hard to pick a fave. I love so many colours for different reasons. But I'll go with purple

33.What is your favourite magazine?

Don't really have a favourite

34. Do you swear?

Not all the time and not a lot, but sometimes if I'm mad about something :P try not to!

35. What are you going to do today?

Well its getting on abit, I've had my tea and just chilling out for the rest of the night!

Took me a while to get through all these questions! Not sure if I tag anyone or not, but I got this tag from Spider leg lashes. I actually enjoyed doing it, feel free to answer them yourself if you'd like,

Soho beauty vanity with drawer and mirror:

Hey guys. I've been looking for something like this for years!

When I spotted this I thought I must have it! I've seen similar ones and they have been so expensive, I just couldn't part with that much money. This cost me £19.99 from the Superdrug website. I expected it to be a little bigger than it is, but I can live with that. The picture on there really isn't all that clear, its small, and there is no size stated or information available, so I had no idea how big it was going to be when it arrived. It has a mirror and a drawer which I thought were nice touches, and made me choose it over others I've come across. Overall I am looking forward to putting my brushes and some makeup items in it.

I have a beauty blogger tag coming up (been answering questions/filling it out for a few days, there's just so many lol).

I just quickly filled it up, might tweak it a little bit and move things around. You can get the idea, and it fits quite a lot in it. I still have other items I need to organise as its not my full makeup collection. I may order some other items from this range for other bits and pieces (there's a smaller organiser for £7.99 that would come in handy).

Miss Sporty so matte foundation review:

Hey guys, I thought I'd get this up asap as have other things to do today. Busy bee, and I could easily spend all day messing around on here. Lets get cracking.

Here's an example of how you can control the size of the pump and what the consistency is like.

About the product:
  • It states it lasts up to 14 hours
  • contains vitamins A,C & E
  • dermatologist tested for your skin type
  • gives a flawless and healthy looking complextion
  • controls shiny zones and and provides a matte effect
  • lightweight texture which doesn't clog pores allowing skin to breath
  • transfer proof
  • soft and smooth feeling on the skin
  • helps protect your skin from daily ravages due to the added vitamins and anti oxidants
  • provides perfect balanced skin under any circumstances
  • non comedogenic for your skin type
  • the bottle contains 27.3ml of product

What I think about the product:
  • I absolutely love this, I got it in ivory. This isn't orange on my skin at all and its a light shade which is hard to find considering my paleness lol
  • it feels really smooth and soft on the skin, feels lovely
  • not sure about it lasting 14 hours, but it does last ages
  • it helps to keep my shine at bay
  • it has a good coverage, doesn't feel heavy or gloopy on the skin
  • the bottle contains a pump, which can easily be controlled to get the desired amount. I manage to get small pumps and large pumps depending on how much I need
  • with it containing 27.3ml its slightly smaller than the average foundation, but it makes up for that in price at only £3.49. That is an absolute steal! I picked mine up at superdrug
  • I definitely prefer this foundation with the babyskin primer underneath, it makes it go on silky smooth
  • Actually really excited about this product as its so good and very cheap. Will definitely be repurchasing time and time again. Would really recommend it and if it didn't work out for you there's no big loss price wise. Doesn't break the bank (which is always a plus). So impressed and would give this a 9/10 for sure!

These are just my personal thoughts on the product, and it worked well for me. Have any of you tried it? if so let me know your thoughts down below in the comments

Garnier Micellar cleansing water:

Hey there, fancy seeing you here! I'm back with the Micellar water review.

So a while back you saw that I tried out the L'Oreal Micellar water. I saw that Garnier also had a version, which had more product for cheaper. Naturally I had to try it out being the bargain that it is. I've always liked Garnier products.

About the product:
  • the bottle contains 400ml which is meant to give you up to 200 uses
  • suitable for sensitive skin
  • can be used on face, eyes and lips
  • it contains no perfume and is hypoallergenic
  • its dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested
  • its an easy and effective way to remove makeup and impurities
  • soothes and hydrates the skin
  • you don't need to rinse the product off
  • the solution works like a magnet which capture and lift away dirt
  • no need to rub harshly on the skin
  • suitable for all skin types

Here are my thoughts on the product:
  • There's not really any difference between this one and the L'Oreal one
  • you get more for your money. Definitely prefer the larger bottle
  • it removes makeup and impurities
  • has a lovely tingly feeling on the skin leaving it refreshed
  • feels nice & gentle on the skin and makes you feel squeaky clean
  • if your patient and let the cotton pad rest over your eyes for a few seconds before wiping, it makes it easier to get it off. Takes a few attempt's for me (to get all traces), but its really effective compared to other eye makeup removers I've tried. No need to rub dramatically and tug on the delicate eye area.
  • I found the L'Oreal version comes out the bottle much quicker, whereas you can get more control from the Garnier bottle
  • again there's no scent to it
  • I prefer to have an all in one makeup remover as its just easy and quick to use, there's no messing around
  • I will be sticking to this one due to the size and price
  • I would rate this 10/10, its fab

Thanks for stopping by, and I shall be returning shortly with another review

Liebster award:

I have been nominated for the Liebster award by a young lady called Shannon. Go take a look at her lovely blog and follow. I have no idea what I'm doing but lets give this a shot shall we =]

Here are the rules guys:
  1. You must link back to the person who nominated you.
  2. You must answer the 11 questions given by the person who nominated you.
  3. You pick 11 nominees with under 200 followers to answer your questions.
  4. You cannot nominate the person who nominated you.
  5. You must tell the nominees that they have been nominated by you.

1. What made you want to become a blogger?

Well I have no idea why it took me so long to do this. I've been watching you tubers for years and reading their blogs. I've always loved the thought of it, and its great to express yourself. So I thought enough is enough get on it as soon as possible. So here I am. I love being creative in any way possible.

2. What do you prefer more Twitter or Instagram? and why?

I don't have Instagram as I've never owned an iPhone. I have Twitter but I've never really used it, I'm always on Facebook. So I'll go with Twitter because I actually have an account lol

3. Favourite foundation and powder?

Oooooo thats a toughey, there's still so many I want to try. My fave to use of all time was the Maybelline liquid to powder foundation, but it was discontinued. I used that from about the age of 14 and would still be purchasing it today if it was available. Sad times. But whilst I'm enjoying using the Miss Sporty matte foundation atm, I'll go with that as its cheap as chips and great (review coming up soon). And powder, I'm using the one by Jerome Alexander currently, but I also love the collection powder, the Maybelline one, natural collection also do a reasonable powder (very cheap), and the well loved Rimmel version. All work great.

4. What was the best holiday you ever went on as a child?

I remember going to places like Wales and Blackpool, staying in both hotels, static caravans, and our portable caravan. I loved them all. To pick a favourite I would say the holiday that we stayed in the static caravan in Wales (by a beach) I even watched the sun go down from on top of a sandy hill. Was really nice and I have fond memories. I was about 9/10 at the time if I remember correctly.

5. What do you love about blogging?

Its like an online diary, where you can express yourself in a variety of ways. You can be as creative as you like, and share just about anything with the blogging world. You have the opportunity to read about other peoples loves, lives and experiences. Its also a good place to talk to others bloggers and meet new people.

6. Whats your dream job ever?

This is another hard question, there's so many things that I love to do (which made choosing a college/university course very very difficult for me). I love animals, it would be a great opportunity to be involved with them in some way. Anything to do with art and designing as I grew up artistic and was always drawing (always had a pen/pencil in my hand). Always been interested in photography (would love a professional camera at some point, think they are fab) And of course beauty is also another passion, I'd love to be involved in makeup and hair in some way or other related professions. I suppose all of these aspects can interlink with one another, but who knows exactly where I want to head in the future. The world is your oyster as they say. I am a qualified Early Years practitioner ( That's the college/university route I took). I definitely want to go back to college at some point (when I save up lol sooooo expensive) and take a dip into the learning world again.

7. Whats the one dream you hope to pursue?

To become more established as a blogger, and get more involved in the beauty world. Also to just grow in confidence and get out there more. Sometimes you just have to throw yourself into the deep end and do things that scare you. Baby steps =]. Also I'd like to try out Youtube one day, hopefully!

8.Favourite Tv program?

Wow there's just so many that I love watching, I even still watch programs from the past (childhood favourites). But I'm going to go with Supernatural, I've watched it since it first came out and still cant get enough of it. Love it!

9.What do you like to do in your spare time, if you have any?

In can vary depending on what plans I have. Whenever I can I love to see my boyfriend and friends, or just chill out at home with my computer or dvd's. Duvet/PJ days are always good!

10. Whats your favourite pair of shoes?

I don't have any specific pair of shoes that I favour the most. But I love boots, any comfy boots. I love the worker boot styles. If not converse style shoes (also comfy).

11.Who are your 3 favourite bloggers or youtubers?

There's so many that I find myself watching. Graveyard girl would definitely be the top youtuber. I just love her style, her personality, in many ways we have similar interests, and shes just so fun to watch. Kandee Johnson, shes also a lovely cheerful lady who brightens up your day when you watch her, her style is great and so are her tutorials. Mammafulzo is another, shes a British youtuber. Shes just so sweet and down to earth, and I love her little chats. And I'm going to cheat and put another down from the UK also, just to make it even lol, so I shall choose Jasmine Amber. Shes also got a great funky style and I'm especially jealous of her shoes ;). There's many more, but I cant list them all.

Here are my nominations (I think I got everybody) :

Shannon shanlxuise
Daisy and Jalisa amaryllis living
Daneca just neeks

Here are my questions:
  1. What made you want to create a blog?
  2. What do you enjoy most about blogging?
  3. If you had to choose just one makeup item, what would it be and why?
  4. Do you watch any Youtuber's? if so who do you like to watch the most?
  5. How did you choose your blog name and whats the meaning behind it?
  6. What is your favourite film/movie of all time?
  7. How would you describe your style (clothing etc, general look)?
  8. Who would you class as your role model (famous/or not)?
  9. What would you say your best feature is (looks/personality etc)?
  10. If you could choose one super power what would it be and why?
  11. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I hope you enjoy the questions, looking forward to reading your answers!

Barry M haul:

Yay it came, and it brightened up my day a little bit seeing my packages waiting for me!

  • So first up I got the Andrea Fulerton triple action undercoat. I haven't tried this before, was a spur of the moment thing when choosing an undercoat
  • Next up we have another gelly shine nail paint in plum (my third one)
  • I spotted the matte nail paint and was instantly attracted to crush (I think that's the colour) its such a pretty dark winter colour, I love these types for the colder months
  • I have three of the normal lip paints, and wanted to try an ultra moisturising version. I love dark vampy lips for winter also, and spotted one in a cranberry colour. Will go well with the matte nail paint. Love the pink packaging too
  • Got the two nail paints and lip Paint in a 3 for 2 offer

  • I saw that these palettes not long ago, and thought I need to try these. Superdrug were doing a 3 for 2 on the website, so I picked up all three. This meant I got one completely free, and with free delivery over £10 I couldn't be more happy. Cant wait to give these a go, the colours look lovely as well.  Love the fact that they contain a blusher, so I have three lovely blushers to try out

Excited to try everything, going to have a ball. I love Barry M in general, takes me back to a fashion show I went to in my teens!

I shall be back soon with other reviews that I have lined up, including the Garnier Micellar water, and Miss Sporty foundation. I'm hoping to try out some other brands and branch out a bit, there are many items I would love to purchase, so they will be on my wishlist.

Thursday 13 February 2014

Elf haul:

Woop it finally arrived! I didn't order too much, but here's the five items that I purchased!

This is what the products look like when the box is opened up. Inside there are five items including:

  • the contouring blush and bronzing powder- this initially caught my eye because the contour colour is quite light and I struggle to find one suited to my skin tone. Most are quite dark, so looks out of place on my face
  • the mineral eyeshadow primer. I tried the cheaper primer a while back, so thought I'd give this a go
  • an allover colour stick in spotlight. I wanted this purely for highlighting, not for the eyes or lips (the other colours were more suited for the cheeks and lips) . I wasn't sure what the other colours would be like in person so played it safe
  • I haven't tried any of the brushes if I recall correctly and I've heard good reviews about them, so I thought why not. I picked up the stipple brush and the angled contour brush , both from the studio line

I cant wait to give these a whirl. There are two more deliveries that I'm waiting on, oooo the excitement! Nothing better than a bit of retail therapy to put a spring in your step, definitely cheers you up.

will update you as soon as everything else arrives. Just waiting on Barry M goodies,

Elf makeup mist and set review:

About the product:
  • keeps your makeup in place all day
  • it gives a radiance boost and invisible hold
  • moisturises and soothes skin
  • has added aloe, green tea, cucumber ingredients as well as vitamins E, C and E
  • lightweight and comfortable
  • alcohol free
  • prevents fading and running
  • sets makeup
  • can be used to refresh makeup throughout the day

What I think about the product:
  • it comes out quite a bit when sprayed onto the face, but doesn't take long to dry
  • has a lovely cooling feeling when applied to the skin, which I love
  • my skin looks dewy after it has dried but not oily. Makes my skin look nice with a glow
  • doesn't sting or irritate at all
  • love the ingredients that it includes
  • my makeup seems to last a bit longer when I've used this in areas around my nose where I get the most fading throughout the day (from rubbing my face etc)
  • it has no scent that I can smell, but my skin feels slightly tighter afterwards, nothing dramatic or noticeable though
  • I've resprayed this later on in the day, and it really does make your makeup look fresher again
  • the bottle is small enough to pop into a makeup bag and travel with
  • its £3.75 on the Elf website (UK based) which I think is a reasonable price for the job it does
Overall I would recommend this setting spray, especially if your on a budget. I would rate this an 8/10.
More reviews coming up soon, and hauls (still waiting for my deliveries).

See you later,

New breakfast food that I have introduced:

I've recently been trying a new porridge. It's the new Oats So Simple multi grain by Quaker Oats. It includes oats, rye and barley. I purchased a box of 10 sachets in original.

I love porridge in general as its filling, energy rich, healthy and yummy. But I recently saw that there was a version with different grains, and I thought why not?! all the health experts say we should include more grains into our diets so its never a bad thing. And of course breakfast is a very important meal and start to the day.

This porridge has a different texture and taste to normal porridge, but I personally don't mind that.

As I always say researching your food and what goes into your body is a great thing. So if you want to know more about why this may be beneficial to you, go ahead. I don't want to make these posts long and boring for you to read and I always encourage research  to find out whats best for you! if its going to benefit you or not is an important factor.

I love my porridge sweet, I do have a sweet tooth (Don't like it without any added sweetness). In my last post I did state that I like my tea sugary, and this is definitely the same with my porridge. So instead of adding sugar I add honey. You can add any honey, its a natural sweetener- so much better for you than processed sugar.

I just pick honey up from anywhere really, but the brand I'm using is just  a Tesco one at the moment. I add one decent sized spoonful to my porridge and it adds flavor and sweetness to it. Honey also has health benefits, but I cant stress more, please research and make sure its right for you beforehand. Some foods are fine for some but not others. Allergies, intolerance's, health issues can all effect choices you make and the foods you choose.

That's all for this post, just wanted to share with you some of the foods I like to include into my diet. Hopefully its not too boring for you (any feedback would be great). Let me know what kind of foods you like for breakfast, or any other time of the day. I will be doing more of these types of posts in the future, along with my beauty and fashion.

Thank you, catch you soon,

Introduction to healthy living: My personal choices:

This will just be an introduction into things I like to implement into my diet. I love green tea and white tea (and other healthy teas) and have done for a very long time, so this isn't new, this is something I have had in place for years. I actually like to mix green tea and white tea together into a mug, so I get the best of both worlds. It's well known that these kind of teas are better for you than ordinary tea, with better benefits for your body/health.

These are the teas I am currently using, I have tried others as well in the past. I love the fact that the white tea is organic and has unbleached bags. I love green tea with added lemon, but I also like it on its own. Its not for everyone, and some people will hate the taste, but I think its tastes lovely. you can alter the strength, but I tend to let it soak until its quite strong until I remove the tea bags. On average I have between 2-6 cups of this a day, along with my usual water which is another staple in my diet.

I notice huge benefits in my skin when I drink this religiously over a period of time, my skins clearer and has a glow to it. You do go to the toilet a bit more with this, but I really don't mind, as I know I'm flushing my system with goodness. I've read that white tea helps speed up metabolism but I cant say if this is true or not. Green tea also has a lot of benefits, which I wont ramble on about but its easily researched on google etc.

Drinking this tea may not be right for some people for a variety of reasons, but it works for me, this is just my personal feelings on it (just something I like to include into daily fluids to keep hydrated). You should read up on it before you try it out, I'm not a health expert or anything like that, just make sure its right for you first before you try it out.

I don't add anything to it, just drink it straight from the cup. Some people like to add honey but I just keep it simple. Its got enough flavor in it for me. I have another post coming up that includes something I've recently added to my diet, which shall be posted after this one.

Sometimes it can be little changes that add a big difference overall. I did my research on teas way back, and its always good to read up on things and educate yourself on small things, something which I love to do. If I have normal tea with milk and sugar I have to add sugar, and I love it sweet, which is bad! So I tend to drink that very little. When I'm putting something good into my body I feel better about myself.

That's all for this short and simple post! Let me know if you have tried teas like this, and what benefits you have seen by doing so.

More coming very soon,

Monday 10 February 2014

A quick update!

Hey lovelies! Just want to give you a quick update. I am expecting some orders to come sometime this week, so once they are here there will be more fab hauls for you to feast your eyes on. There are reviews on the way, got quite a few of them coming up soon. So expect to see some posts very shortly.

Hauls that are coming up include Barry M and Elf. Reviews I have coming up include baby lips, makeup mist and set by Elf and Garnier micellar water.

If there are any posts you would like to see (none beauty related or beauty related) just let me know in a message or comment. I would really appreciate some ideas.

I'm hoping to get a bit more involved in the blogging world, and maybe chat to other bloggers etc (I've been commenting myself, which is always fun). I have yet to read any comments/messages from other bloggers, and I'm looking forward to all that in the future. So don't feel shy adding your comments or constructive criticism, I would love to know of any improvements I could make. I'm still new to this, so still learning as I go along! I'm enjoying my blogging journey so far.

I'm also embarking on a weight loss journey, for myself. I have done similar things in the past, but due to recent events (and illness) I can no longer do my high energy workouts. I've always been really active and enjoyed doing exercise religiously so its strange for me. This is why I'm purely taking the diet route, which will just involve eating much cleaner, with healthy balanced meals. I'm also keen on healthy living in general, and try to implement that as much as I can.If you would like to see this in action, and how I progress let me know in the comments. This will be reflecting my 'lifestyle' elements into my blog.

See you all soon,
